March 7, 2024

WASHINGTON - March 7, 2024 - Center for AI Policy (CAIP) Executive Director Jason Green-Lowe issued the following statement on President Biden's State of the Union address:

"CAIP was pleased to hear President Biden's call for bipartisan legislation to protect against the perils of AI—but AI safety isn't just Congress's job.

"CAIP encourages the White House to do three things to prioritize safety immediately:

  1. Add vigorous cybersecurity standards to federal grants.
  2. Prosecute AI companies that blatantly steal intellectual property.
  3. Secure the integrity of the elections against deepfakes.

"For American security and prosperity, we must get this technology right."
